“To make a quantum leap, keep the focus on where you want to go.” —Annie Kagen
The Cambridge English Dictionary defines quantum leap as: A great improvement or important advance in something.
Recently I experienced a quantum leap. And it was all due to a shift in perspective.
Here’s what happened.
Many of us experience life as being busy, and I’m no exception. There’s always a lot to do and accomplish, but work/life balance is important to me. Sometimes I am in the flow with it all, and other times I’m not. When I’m not, I feel overwhelmed. In those moments there doesn’t seem to be enough time for the balance that I want in my life.
The more I focus on my lack of free time, the less time I seem to have and the more I feel out of sorts. Struggling with this, it hit me, I was going about it all wrong!
I was focusing my energy on what I didn’t want, and therefore attracting more feelings of overwhelm. It’s like that saying, “How you deal with the issue is the issue”. After all, I created the work, yet there I was feeling upset about it.
This caused me to do some soul-searching so I could evaluate what was going on. When I got right down to it, my thinking was perpetuating my feelings of discontent. As I worked through how I felt, my thinking changed and so did my perception.
In other words, I experienced a quantum leap. So in today’s post, I’m sharing what I learned.
