“Every waking moment we talk to ourselves about the things we experience. Our self-talk, the thoughts we communicate to ourselves, in turn control the way we feel and act.”
But what is self-talk, anyway?
Put bluntly, it’s your mental chatter. That resident voice we all have in our heads, commenting on our life as it unfolds day-to-day.
Its tone can be encouraging, telling you what a fantastic job you did closing that deal. The next moment it can be intensely critical, passing judgment on everything from your business sense to your wardrobe.
And believe it or not, when it gets nasty, your self-talk can have negative consequences for your business.
